With the current events in Egypt, Tunisia, and other countries in the Arab Muslim world, Dr. Zakir Naik appearing for a historic address to the Oxford Union, and people with authority like David Cameron commenting about Islamic extremism in the UK. As has become the norm, Islam is all over the media and all over the world. So what's all the hubbub about Islam, what makes it so special, why is it the major topic of the modern era, and why do so many people defend it while others attack it?
LSU Islamic Society is holding Islam Awareness Week 2011, and it is yet again time for the society to present Islam to those who care about life, politics, civilisation, history, and/or humanity. Those who care about science, God, purpose, morals, logic, and/or causality. The Islamic Society promises a week of engaging discussions and talks about the values of Islam, the significance of this unique religion, the ultimate proof of God's existence, miracles, and the greatest man who ever lived. So come one, come all to these open events, concluding at the end of the week with a complimentary dinner. We'd like to meet you and discuss different perspectives of the world with you. We'd like to agree with you, and disagree with you, but mostly we'd like to enjoy a good, peaceful, honest, open-minded, thought-provoking, and hopefully life-changing dialogue with you.
Visit our Exhibition at the James France Exhibition Area, from Monday 28th February until Friday 4th March, 10:00AM - 5:00PM

The week's agenda is as follows:
